What is BPC-157?

BPC-157 is a synthetic 15-amino-acid peptide. Its sequence comes from a larger protein first described in gastric juice, which is where the name “body protection compound” comes from. The research-grade material is made by solid-phase peptide synthesis, purified by HPLC and freeze-dried into a powder.

For a laboratory, the useful facts are its sequence, molecular weight, purity and the quality of the batch documentation. Those are what this page focuses on.

What has been studied? (preclinical research only)

Almost all published work on BPC-157 is preclinical. That means cell-culture (in-vitro) studies and animal models. There are no completed large-scale published research studies, and no regulator has approved BPC-157 as a medicine.

Examples of the kinds of questions researchers have asked:

Findings from cell or animal models cannot be applied to people. Corex Vitality™ does not make any claim about what BPC-157 does in the body.

What to check before you buy BPC-157 in the UK

Use the same checks with any supplier, including us.

  1. A COA you can open without logging in. It should show the laboratory name, a report or batch number, the test date and the HPLC purity result.
  2. A size-matched COA. Check which vial size the COA was run on. Our BPC-157 COAs are for a 5mg batch (LDA22162336) and a 10mg batch (LDA22161152).
  3. A way to confirm the report. Lingda Laboratory COAs carry a QR code. Scan it to check the report on the laboratory’s own site. Our guide to verifying a peptide COA walks through each step.
  4. Claims that match the certificate. If a supplier says “identity confirmed by mass spectrometry”, the COA should show it. Our BPC-157 COA reports HPLC purity and does not include a mass-spectrometry identity test.
  5. Purity is not the same as peptide content. HPLC purity tells you how much of the detected material is the target peptide. It does not tell you the net peptide content of the vial. See HPLC purity vs net peptide content.
  6. A real UK business. Look for a company number, a registered address and a data-protection (ICO) registration.
  7. Research-only presentation. A supplier that gives human-use instructions or health claims is not selling a research compound. Under the Human Medicines Regulations 2012, that presentation can make a product a medicine.

Storage of lyophilised BPC-157

Store sealed vials cool, dry and away from light, as described in our lyophilised peptide storage guide. Peptides in solution are generally less stable than the dried powder, so laboratories usually prepare solutions only when they need them.
